Hong Kong's Noel Kennedy bowed out of the Saga World Indoor Bowls Championships in Preston after losing to Jason Greenslade of Wales in the second round.

The 33-year-old Kennedy rarely displayed the form he is capable of on his way to a 7-4, 7-1, 7-2 defeat. The turning point came in the fifth end of opening set when Greenslade - having been 5-0 up after two ends - led 5-4.

Kennedy looked like counting shot but his Welsh opponent collected a double for the set to inflict a psychological blow on his Hong Kong opponent.

Although he kept Greenslade to counts of one and two, losing a three only on the first end of the opening set, Kennedy was always scrambling to stay in touch with his opponent.

'Obviously I feel down because I know I can play much better than that. I was nothing like as good as I was against Mark McMahon in the first round,' Kennedy said. 'I kept finding holes with my bowls and I became frustrated in the third set but to be honest I was completely outplayed.'
