The high point of Priscilla Chen's designing career came when she saw her name in print alongside Karl Lagerfeld and Valentino in Britain's The Daily Telegraph in a fashion article. 'Actually I laughed, imagining the majority of readers who came across my name and thought, 'Who?'. But I was proud too, for holding my own for Hong Kong.' Priscilla may be accused of resting on her laurels but it is a well-earned rest. After 12 years of designing and creating beautifully understated clothes for a loyal clientele, she has closed her haute couture studio and treated herself to a holiday in Italy. 'This is a luxury for me, taking time for my family, and for myself,' she says. 'Travelling without having a deadline to rush back to is just great.' Since her return, she has taken a course on architectural history and is consulting for two 'very insistent clients - one who wants to change her look completely, and the other who needs advice on incorporating new trends with her own style'. She is also indulging in her first love - cooking which, as a dutiful daughter, she often does for her parents.
