1-MIN READ1-MIN
A doctor who was reported to have developed a 'cure' for AIDS yesterday accused the Government and a newspaper of libel.
Dr Paul Ki Ping-ki was criticised by a Health Department doctor in an article on the drug in the Express News on April 8, 1994.
Dr Ki told the Court of First Instance that the article had exaggerated the qualities of Retrogen by calling it an AIDS cure.

Also in the article, a doctor from the Health Department claimed he was using illegal medical advertising to promote his drug.
Dr Ki held about 10 press conferences in Hong Kong and the offending article appeared after one such conference in April 1994.

However, Dr Ki said he merely claimed his drug was able to help, not cure, people with AIDS.
