Humanists put people first

The state of the financial situation across Asia depends on one's point of view.

People I know, who are not immensely rich, have lost a great deal of money in the stock market and because of the drop in the value of property.

They believed in the system. They thought that it was simply a matter of plugging in the small change and then standing by the cash outlet; a bit like bingo.

If Asia was milk, the cream has gone.

In another sense nothing important has been lost. Property prices had reached ridiculous proportions. In human terms, it did not relate to the actual value.

The import of luxury goods has been curtailed and I think that this is excellent.
