These are good days for the Bruce Hutchison team with the long-serving Australian mentor landing some good prizes with a couple of fancied runners.

Last night compatriot jockey Steven King pulled off a heady all-the-way win aboard Word From Rome. But it was one of the team's lesser lights, The Greatest (8-1), who really had tongues wagging after his game third in the Class Four sixth event at the Valley mile won in grinding fashion by Grand Vefour.

At the start, King was squeezed for room and forced to take hold from his inside barrier (four). However, with Streak Of Dawn setting a suicidal pace in front it proved advantageous for King to bide his time.

He did just that before taking the New Zealand-bred forward out of the back. They were travelling sweetly into the turn but were taken off the track and forced to come home widest of all in the straight.
