National People's Congress head Qiao Shi will dine with current and new deputies next Wednesday during his first visit to the SAR.

 The banquet will be held in the ballroom of the Harbour Plaza, the Li Ka-shing-owned hotel in Hung Hom, favoured by Beijing leaders. President Jiang Zemin stayed there during the handover.

 Cheng Yiu-tong, a local NPC deputy, said: 'We do not have any fixed agenda to discuss with Mr Qiao yet.'  Mr Qiao is expected to arrive on Tuesday for the five-day visit.
