More than 75 students have graduated from the Hong Kong International Institute of Music, after completing four-year programmes. Their majors were chosen from courses including Music Education, Theory Composition, Church Music, Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Vocal Performance and Classical Guitar Performance. The non-profit Christian institute was founded 10 years ago by a group of Christian musicians and educators. Their goal was to provide a positive educational music experience for young people, said a spokesman. A classical music education is taught in accordance with Christian beliefs, 'allowing students to be trained and spiritually developed as well', he said. A performance followed the graduation ceremony and awards of scholarships and prizes. It included a string quartet and solo soprano.
