$170,000 cigarettes seized

CUSTOMS officers seized their largest haul of smuggled cigarettes this year after stopping a lorry loaded with lamps at the border. They found more than $170,000 worth of cigarettes hidden under the roof of the lorry at Man Kam To, after receiving a tip-off. Tax on the 40 bags of top brand name cigarettes would have amounted to $92,800.
