Wine: Marques de Grinon Rioja Grape: Tempranillo Region: Rioja, Spain Vintage: 1995 Rioja is Spain's best-known wine and is made exclusively from the Tempranillo grape.

Its quality has improved greatly in recent years and the wines are usually fresh and fruity rather than tired and over-oaked as they once used to be.

Dominio de Valdepusa, where the vines for the Marques de Grinon Rioja are planted, has been family-owned since 1292.

The winery is situated in an 18th century building, which has excellent temperature and humidity-controlled cellars and modern vinification techniques.

There are 850 oak barrels and 10 stainless steel fermentation tanks at the winery.

This gives it a storage capacity for 500,000 litres of wine.
