Empty flats forced on to market

Property companies are to be forced to sell vacant flats in a bid to reduce supply in the residential market, a report said. The Securities Times quoted National Construction Ministry Vice-Minister Li Zhendong as saying the government would introduce new policies to tackle oversupply in the residential market. Mr Li said the government would tightly controlling the supply of land and pressure property developers to repay outstanding loans.
