AUSTRALIAN visitor Garry McClean won the final Sun Hung Kai Triplet Series race at Aberdeen Country Park yesterday.
He showed the 100-strong pack a clean pair of heels to cover the tough 11-kilometre course in 37 minutes 15 seconds.
McClean built a big lead on the grinding climb from Lady Clementi's Ride to Blacks Link, leaving Tsuen Wan's Ma Sai-tong, series leader Chan Wah-kwai of Road Runners Athletic Club and Simon Parsons of Watson's Athletic Club trailing in his wake.
Ma took second place in 37:40 with Chan finishing third in 37:59, good enough to give him the series' men's open title.
Lisa Hintz cruised home for an easy overall win in the women's race, clocking 43:39 to beat Gillian Castka by 29 seconds.
Hintz won the women's open title, Castka the veterans' 35-44 years trophy.
