McCann Erickson Guangming creative director Tomaz Mok has been named on the international judging panel for this year's Clio advertising awards in New York, the ad agency's executive director Andrew Jaffe says. 'Hong Kong has a bigger impact on the advertising industry worldwide than its market size would suggest, and we like to get someone from the SAR on the panel of judges,' Mr Jaffe said. Mr Jaffe said Mr Mok would be one of 30 at the week-long awards in May judging print, poster, TV and radio advertisements. Last year, there were 160 Clio entries from Hong Kong, 21 of which were short-listed. Two won prizes, a bronze and a silver. 'There is a growing level of competition for business from around the region, especially from Singapore. But I still think . . . that Hong Kong is the region's creative centre,' Mr Jaffe said.
