God, I hate reviewing stuff from Hewlett-Packard. The firms products are all so boring - they basically work as advertised. They never seem to have a hitch or cause trouble.
The 6100 scanner was no exception, but this time the boring efficiency was a bit too much.
The 6100 is typical of HP's scanners. They scan colour, at least accurately enough that most people would not notice the difference.
When I say accurate, I really mean to say there is no noticeable colour cast. Actually, the colours were not true to the original because they were extremely over-saturated.
I scanned a chop stamped on a piece of rice paper. The chop was a peeked shade of red and the paper was an off-white yellow.
Once scanned on the 6100, the chop became candy-apple red and the paper a bright daisy yellow.
