This month's selection of educational shareware ranges from aids for preparing a university research paper to small applications that help you memorise information.
Memory Wizard (www. prosigner.com) is a small (108 Kb to download) program that is quite useful. You provide it with a list of questions and answers containing information you want to learn. Then, at scheduled intervals, it pops up a question box to test your knowledge.
The frequency of questions can be programmed. All in all, this is a useful tool if you have lists of information you want to memorise. The registration fee is US$21.
Scholar's Aid (www. scholarsaid.com) is a much more ambitious project. With this $24 program, students writing research papers can organise notes and information.
Among other features, Scholar's Aid can manage a bibliography, associate notes with bibliography entries and help generate and insert footnotes into documents.
The program can generate your full bibliography in a formatted .RTF file which can be opened in any word processor for integration with a research paper.
