A group of final-year students taking the Higher Diploma in English for Professional Communication at City University (CityU) will hold an educational event to promote public awareness of the visually impaired. Called VIP can be VIP (Visually Impaired People can be Very Important People), the event for Hong Kong Blind Union (HKBU), will include a wide range of games, an exhibition and an equipment demonstration. HKBU was established in 1964. It is the first self-organised and self-managed voluntary organisation for the visually impaired in Hong Kong. It aims to achieve full integration of the visually impaired in society, secure equal opportunities in different fields and promote the philosophy of self- help and mutual support among them. The activities will be held today from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm and tomorrow from 11.30 am to 5.30 pm at CityU's Multi-Purpose Room C.
