Sea-Land and Maersk will make deployment changes in services from February 10. Both will make another Hong Kong to Long Beach/ Oakland call, providing 12 and 15-day transits respectively in a service complementing the Yantian/Hong Kong/Long Beach 11-day direct service which also has a call at Oakland. This service, which will be boosted with an extra vessel, will call at Tacoma after Long Beach and then Hong Kong. The Tacoma call is expected to benefit exports from the US Pacific northwest, Midwest and East Coast ports requiring direct service to Hong Kong and South China. Westbound, the carriers offer an additional weekly service from both Oakland and Long Beach to Hong Kong, with Thursday arrivals. The carriers' US East Coast all-water service via the Suez, also to be gaining an extra vessel, will make an additional call at Yantian after Hong Kong before sailing to Singapore.
