A MAN banged his head against the bars surrounding the dock and wept loudly after being found guilty by a High Court jury of robbery yesterday.
Sentencing Chow Lim-chi to 12 years' jail, Deputy Judge Wong told him he had manhandled all the victims and shown no remorse.
Chow, 28, was found guilty of robbing a company of about 40,000 watches worth more than $14.7 million.
According to evidence called by Senior Crown Counsel Mr Patrick Li, Chow was one of several robbers armed with knives who burst into the Ernest Borel Company in Wai Yip Street, Kwai Chung, on November 28, 1991.
Fourteen staff members were tied up, gagged and blindfolded and the robbers took their personal property including cash and jewellery.
The key to the storeroom was taken from the director, Mr Lee Wai-kuen, and 40,438 watches were stolen.
