Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao yesterday dismissed an Amnesty International report on human rights abuses and urged the advocacy group to change its tactics. Amnesty accused China of sending more than 200,000 people to labour camps last year without charges or trial. Mr Zhu said: 'Amnesty International often makes use of hearsay and ill-conceived reports to launch irresponsible attacks against China. 'We wish Amnesty International would take a different tack. Sticking to this course is not doing any good.'
