Parents are reminded to apply for Primary Two to Primary Six school places for their children in government schools for the coming academic year. According to an Education Department spokesman, all children aged between six and 12 who are not in school should apply for admission. Children who will be six years and eight months old or older, on September 1 may apply for admission, he said. Vacancies will be displayed at the main entrances of schools and inquiries should be made to individual schools. Parents may collect application forms at government primary schools which have vacancies. They will be available until March 12. Completed forms should be returned to the schools and selection will be made on March 18. Application is free, as is admission. The spokesman said children were usually admitted to schools serving the district in which they lived, adding that siblings would not be separated.
