Good quality, it seems, never goes out of style. Even with the downturn of the property market, a top-notch development of five exclusive homes has come on to the market.
Located on the Peak, the Belvedere is only available for lease and each house boasts approximately 8,900 square feet spread over three levels, all designed with the best materials and with minute attention to detail.
The architect, Tao Ho, whose achievements include the award-winning Hong Kong Arts Centre and the renovation of Government House, describes the style of the house as belonging to the classical revival period.
'This is one of the most well-finished houses I have designed,' he says. 'It was specially designed for living on the Peak, which takes factors such as mists and extra humidity into account.' Tao and the developer also flew to a quarry in France to select the same type of limestone used in the Louvre museum in Paris.
The imported natural limestone is used on the exterior walls.
Among the features of each house are swimming pools and living rooms with double-height ceilings.
