Australian pianist David Helfgott, whose turbulent life was portrayed in the Oscar-winning film Shine, is to play in Hong Kong next month.
The maestro will perform at the concert hall in the Cultural Centre on April 20, at the start of a world tour that will include Japan, South Africa and Israel.
Promoter James Cundall, head of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, said he was confident the show would sell out.
Tickets go on sale on Monday.
'This is an amazing character who people go and see partially as he is an inspiration and partially for his brilliant piano playing,' he said.
Helfgott is renowned for his unusual performances, in which he often mutters to himself as his hands speed over the keyboard.
A child prodigy before a breakdown in 1970, he spent years in and out of mental institutions before returning to the stage in 1984 with his wife's help.
