Oasis' Liam Gallagher has been banned from Cathay Pacific after he threatened to stab a pilot.

After the band's antics on a flight from Hong Kong to Perth last month, the airline said it would only carry it if it promised to behave.

But airline spokesman Kwan Chuk-fai last night said the position had been reviewed after executives saw television footage of Gallagher threatening the captain. He said all those who caused trouble would be banned.

Mr Kwan discusses the move in a letter to the Post today.

Staff unions are understood to have been pressing for a ban.

Mr Kwan said: 'We have taken into account the welfare of our passengers and staff and the need to protect them.'
