Former champion trainer Brian Kan Ping-chee (left) said he had put up with telephone eavesdroppers for the past decade. The discovery of bugs came four years after authorities found Kan's phone was tapped. 'I'm positive my telephone has been bugged in the past 10 or so years I've lived in Racecourse Gardens. The sound quality is not normal and once in a while it sounds 'staticky',' Kan said. 'I'm not afraid of anyone overhearing anything. I have nothing to hide, no secrets. I don't often talk about horses on the phone. If I have anything confidential to discuss, I say it to people in person.' He thought it unlikely syndicates could make money on horses by listening in.
