Among the more unusual requests that illusionist David Copperfield has received is one from novelist and socialite Eunice Lam. Copperfield appeared via video conferencing at a recent luncheon in his honour during a series of performances in Chicago. The VIP guests had the opportunity to ask the master illusionist questions about his upcoming show, 'Dreams & Nightmares', to be held in Hong Kong from May 8-10. Eunice seized the opportunity and asked: 'Could you make the current girlfriend of my ex-boyfriend disappear permanently without committing premeditated murder?' Copperfield, who was stuck for words for a few seconds, told Eunice to leave her number and he would try to 'work on that'. However, Eunice shot back: 'Shouldn't it be her number you want, not mine?' Eunice is working on a new novel and intends to donate the proceeds of its sale to the Children's Cancer Foundation. She is also helping Shanghai Television with a television series adapted from one of her novels. Picture of Eunice Lam: Alain Yip
