PUI Ching Middle School and Kiangsu-Chekiang College of Sha Tin won the boys' and girls' Jing Ying titles respectively at the annual Jing Ying volleyball competition held at the Kowloon Park Indoor Games Hall recently.

The three-day event saw fierce competition among the regional champions from Hongkong, Kowloon and the New Territories in the boys' section.

Pui Ching Middle School (Kowloon representative) and SKH Tsang Siu Tim Secondary School (NT champions) each notched their first win at the expense of King's College (Hongkong champion), both winning by the same 3-1 scoreline.

The final match saw a see-saw battle between Pui Ching and Tsang Siu Tim, which lasted one hour and 20 minutes.

Pui Ching started prominently by winning the first two sets 15-3 and 15-5 in less than 30 minutes.

Tsang Siu Tim, however, tied the game at 2-2 after taking the third and fourth sets 15-4 and 15-13.

The final set was deadlocked at 13-13, but Pui Ching kept their nerves and won two straight points to take the match and title.
