Ignorance about the election system is growing as polling day approaches, according to a survey.

In the poll conducted on February 24, more than 93 per cent of people failed to name proportional representation when asked what system was being adopted for the geographical polls. Only 6.6 per cent answered correctly.

A similar survey on February 10 found 92.1 per cent failed to provide the answer.
