Vice-mayor of Fuzhou, Liu Yongzhao, said China Everbright intended to invest solely in the Qingjiang Bridge and the connected Changle Airport Expressway.

All of the preparation work for the construction of the project, such as the design and government permit, has been completed.

The length of the bridge is about 2,200 metres and the expressway is 18.5 kilometres.

'China Everbright was involved in the design of the project and we are expecting the contract will be signed very soon,' Mr Liu said.
