South Korean semiconductor manufacturer Hyundai Electronics Industries may abandon the PC business, spokesman Kwon Sang-gyun said.
'The personal computer business accounts for about 5 per cent, or 170 billion won [about HK$885.86 million], of sales,' said Mr Kwon, who added the company would take a charge for the discontinued business.
He said Hyundai might transfer the division to its employees. A final decision would be announced after Hyundai Group, its parent company, reviewed restructuring plans put forward by each subsidiary.
