Public relations firm Caribiner International has acquired Hong Kong-based companies Consumer Access and The Bridge Design as part of its expansion into Asia. Caribiner's Asian division, which planned and produced last year's handover ceremonies on behalf of the Hong Kong Government, will integrate Consumer Access' corporate communications with its founder and managing director, Julie French, becoming director of client services for the new entity. Meanwhile Paul Zimmerman, founder and managing director of graphic designers The Bridge Design, will become director of creative services. The company will offer strategic planning, event production, exhibitions, media relations, graphic design and video and multimedia production. Caribiner chairman and chief executive Ray Ingleby said the move fitted the firm's strategy of expanding in Asia through acquisitions. The company now has 24 offices in Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
