THE Airport Authority yesterday used more than 1,200 volunteers aged five to 70 to test the readiness of the new Chek Lap Kok airport, which opens on July 6. They posed as travellers to test passenger flow, operation and security systems and personnel from airlines and government departments. Emergencies such as fires and a worker knocked over by a car were simulated. Officials said the exercise went smoothly.
