The World Bank has approved two loans for China's energy sector totalling US$313 million, the international lender announced Friday. The first of the loans approved Thursday will help finance a $150 million energy conservation project. The bank is lending $63 million, the United States is providing a $22 million grant, the US private sector is lending $30.9 million and the European Community is lending $4.5 million.
