Media Watchers has established a new business development division and appointed Doris Tang as manager. Ms Tang was formerly human resources and administration manager for MGM Gold Networks. System Software Associates (SSA), a provider of business information systems to the industrial sector, has appointed Ron Luey as managing director for its Greater China operations. Formerly country manager for SSA Hong Kong and South China, Mr Luey will assume responsibility for all sales, marketing and support activities in China, the SAR and Taiwan. John Hirsch has been appointed marketing and sales director of Momentum Internet in Hong Kong. He will be responsible for building traffic and content on the various Internet Web sites and services owned and operated by the company. Mr Hirsch will also be responsible for advertising sales and global positioning and branding of the company. Krone AG has appointed Luke Mitchell as managing director of its Northeast Asia operations, covering China, the SAR, Korea, Macau and Taiwan. Mr Mitchell will be responsible for all aspects of management of Hong Kong- based Krone Communications, which is Krone AG's subsidiary for the Northeast Asia region. Global Asset Management has appointed Richard Tsoi as private client director. Mr Tsoi has held various senior positions with a number of leading financial institutions in Hong Kong, Toronto and Zurich. James R. Knowles (Hong Kong) has appointed Louise Popplewell and Paul Barrett as associate directors. Ms Popplewell and Mr Barrett have substantial experience in the construction industry, gained with contracting organisations, government, private practice and developers. Shandwick International has appointed Emma Smith as managing director of Shandwick Hong Kong. Ms Smith has been in Asia since 1993 and has joined Shandwick from Forrest International where she was executive director. Drake Beam Morin (Hong Kong), a consulting firm providing outplacement services, has appointed Fred Heeney as senior vice-president responsible for client counselling and marketing. Also joining the company is Jacinta Hargadon as consultant responsible for client counselling and psychological assessments. Modern Terminals has appointed Jackson Ng as general manager, finance. Mr Ng has more than 15 years experience, including time with Coopers & Lybrand and nine years with the Lam Soon Group where he was group financial controller. Donald Cheung has joined Euan Barty Associates to head EBA Strategic, the company's new marketing consultancy initiative. He was formerly general manager of corporate marketing at New World Telephone. Enterprise storage firm EMC has appointed Michael Burnie as managing director of the Asia-Pacific region. He was EMC managing director in Australia and New Zealand.
