Two booklets have been published to promote understanding of the Basic Law among young readers.
A spokesman for the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education, which published the booklets, said the Government gave high priority to the promotion of the Basic Law.
'To this end we will launch a Basic Law package, comprising a question and answer booklet and a story book, focusing on the One Country, Two Systems concept,' he explained.
With the aid of colourful illustrations, the booklet explains the background and important features of the Basic Law. To cater for younger readers, the storybook employs a comic strip to illustrate the major features of the law.
Copies of the two booklets are available at all district offices; the Civic Education Resource Centre, 2nd floor, Tung Sun Commercial Centre, 194- 200 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai; and the Information Services Department's Marketing Office, 17/F, Siu On Centre, 176- 192 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai.
Free copies will also be distributed to schools.
