HIGH-RIDING Suntex chalked up their third successive win in Hongkong Division A1 with a lop-sided 109-67 victory over Police at the MacPherson Stadium, Mongkok last night. Suntex, who started the season with a loss to Frankwell, have since bounced back with triumphs over Burlingame and Seapower, and were never seriously threatened by amateurs Police. American professionals Bill Courtney and Eric Strothers gave Suntex a strong start, pulling away to a handy 53-30 interval lead. Strothers went on a scoring spree early in the second half to put Suntex so far in front that coach Cheung Tai-wing could field his reserve players in the last 10 minutes. In the second match on the bill Hongkong champions Seapower thrashed visitors Shantou from Guangdong 103-72 in a friendly. Seapower led only 44-41 at half-time but with the towering Greg Butler dominating the rebounds and showing uncanny shooting accuracy, they pulled away to lead 69-44 seven minutes into the second period and never let Shantou back in.
