The Education Department has sent questionnaires to the five participating schools.
They are: FDBWA Yan Kow School, Tsuen Wan Lutheran School, Pak Tin Catholic Primary School, Confucian Tai Shing Primary School and Taikoo Primary School.
Aimed at assisting the new arrivals to adapt to the local learning environment and school curriculum, the scheme offers courses with content based on syllabus and class structure similar to that of regular schools.
Between September last year and February this year, a total of 157 newly arrived children enrolled for these two- to three-month short-term preparatory courses at the five schools. On average, each child attended school for 62 days.
Teachers and parents in the scheme will be solicited and questionnaires will be collected in three batches over the year.
