Justice Elsie Leung Oi-sie ill

Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung Oi-sie was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital yesterday for observation for stomach disorders.

The media was told there would be no photo session for her voting at Queensway. Miss Leung, who has been embroiled in a spate of controversies including issues involving the Hong Kong Standard and Xinhua in the past few weeks, failed to turn up to cast her ballot in the legal subsector.

'Doctors have advised her to stay in hospital for a while before she resumes work,' a spokesman for the Department of Justice said.

Ian Wingfield is standing in for Miss Leung.
