Old cotton spindles destroyed

The mainland destroyed about 742,000 obsolete cotton spindles during the first quarter of this year, or 98.9 per cent of the targeted figure for the period, Xinhua reported yesterday. Beijing launched a national spindle reduction campaign early this year in a bid to raise the efficiency of the textile industry.
