Citigate Albert Frank has bought a majority stake in Hong Kong boutique advertising agency Window Creative, giving the British-based company its first stake in an Asian entity.
Citigate has taken 85 per cent of Window Creative from DDB Needham Asia-Pacific, with the new company to be known as Citigate Window Creative. Mark Amdur will become managing director of the new combined agency, which has annual billings of about $130 million, with Richard Hardwick deputy chairman and Arnold Ng named as director, client services.
Citigate Window Creative will have a client list that includes the Asian Wall Street Journal, the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Regent Pacific Group, Delifrance, JP Morgan, Hongkong Telecom CSL One Two Free and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Citigate Window Creative will also offer clients its film and video production capabilities for TV commercials and corporate videos under the banner of WindowFilm. Mr Amdur said he hoped to find independent operators throughout Asia to build a regional network over the next three to five years.
Citigate Albert Frank is the advertising division of Incepta Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has offices in London, New York and San Francisco as well as Hong Kong.
