But translated into English, the name becomes 'glorious show' which is, perhaps, the most apt phrase to describe the careers of Koo and Wong in the world of Cantopop.

Before Hong Kong discovered the likes of Aaron Kwok Fu-shing, Andy Lau Tak-wah, Leon Lai Ming or composers such as Mark Lui Chung-tak, Koo and Wong reigned almost supreme in the world of television and movie theme songs.

Like the era they come from, Koo and Wong have stood the test of time. Between them, they have had more hits than they can remember and unlike the hits of today, their evergreen songs still remain strong in memories.

The old friends agree the secret to writing everlasting golden oldies is the melody, a skill to which younger composers do not seem to pay enough attention.
