The first MBA students trained in Hong Kong by an Australian university have received their degrees in a ceremony in Perth.

The group comprised 80 Chinese in the MBA programme and 20 English MBA graduates.

They completed distance learning at weekends over a 15-month period in the SAR and were accompanied by nearly 1,000 Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degree recipients from the Division of Business, Information Technology and Law.

Professor Alan Davison, the executive dean, told Campus Post that the Chinese MBA programme was tailor-made for managers of Chinese enterprises and characterised by the use of Putonghua as the medium of instruction.

'The Murdoch MBA in Hong Kong offers an exciting innovation in management education for those wanting a sound academic background in business concepts as well as the opportunity of a 'hands on' experience in China.
