A 45-year-old man injured in the fatal bus accident in Wan Chai during the Lunar New Year has lost his 2.5-month battle for life, bringing the tragedy's death toll to four.
Police said yesterday Mak Kwong-king, who suffered serious head injuries, died on Tuesday night in Eastern Hospital. He had been critically ill since the accident on January 30.
A couple and a woman were killed when the Citybus vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the Tonnochy Road flyover, Wan Chai.
The rear section of the roof was torn off after hitting railings on the flyover, injuring 50 other passengers.
A Citybus spokesman said the company would contact Mak's family to see what assistance could be given.
'But we have to wait for the police investigation and coroner's report,' she said.
