The Business School at HKU's new downtown centre is conveniently located at Admiralty Centre.

There are five classrooms, with seating capacity for 15 to 80 people. Each class is equipped with a computer for teaching with electronic screens, 3M overhead projectors, whiteboards that tilt in four directions and Barco video projectors.

Several network ports with access to the Internet and direct links to the university's library are provided. Presenters can operate equipment such as VCR, mixer and amplifier from a central control panel.

'Microphones can be set up so that speeches can be played in another room or recorded, and an image can be projected as well,' Dr Su Chan, MBA programme director, said.

The largest classroom can be used for video-conferencing. There is a network port for each student and a video link to the main campus. Video-conferences are envisaged with other institutions in Hong Kong and abroad.

'The idea is to develop video-conferencing as a programme for the entire school on a regular basis,' Dr Chan said.
