Emperor Securities and Emperor Finance are suing three clients for the non-payment of $2.48 million in margin loans, a writ claims. The writs, filed in the High Court, claimed Raymond Wong Man-kit was a client of the two companies and arranged loan agreements. From time to time the securities and finance company 'granted Mr Wong margin loan facilities to finance the acquisition price of securities at an interest rate of 3 per cent over the best lending rate of Hongkong and Shanghai Bank,' the writ stated. Two writs were filed against Mr Wong. One claimed a loan agreement was made on October 17, 1996 and that by March 12 this year $601,765.20 was still outstanding. The second writ claimed Mr Wong and Ng Chun-kam had not paid back $1,397,971.60 which is allegedly owed to the securities and finance company. The third writ was filed against Wong Man-wai for an allegedly outstanding margin loan of $481,188.45.
