Rush for home loans

More than 30,000 application forms for the Home Starter Loan Scheme were collected on the first day of availability, although only 6,000 families will receive the loans.

The scheme will help families buy new homes on condition they earn less than $70,000 a month, own assets worth less than $1.2 million and have not owned properties in the past 10 years.
