Hang Lung Group expects to start pre-leasing soon for the serviced apartments at its Grand Gateway Garden joint-venture development in Shanghai.
The 34-storey residential tower comprises 268 furnished apartments of two and three bedrooms, ranging from 92 to 145 square metres.
The group expected the pre-lease of the apartments to start in the second quarter and be completed in the third quarter.
The project is located in the city's Xujiahui district. Adjacent to it is the Grand Gateway Plaza, an American-style shopping mall comprising a department store, food court and cineplex.
Hang Lung said the mainland's prosperous retail market and continued economic growth was attracting more overseas retailers.
It said many of the early entrants were from Hong Kong and Taiwan, but European and American retailers were catching up.
