REPORT LEADS TO INTERVIEW FOR OUT-OF-WORK MANAGER

A former advertising manager has gained his first interview after telling the South China Morning Post of his jobless plight.

Edmond Chan Yin-kit, a 31-year-old graduate in management, finance and investment, said he had sent out 20 job applications without success, but was yesterday invited to a meeting at CMG Asia Life Assurance.

The company's general manager of sales, Alan McGregor, who read Mr Chan's story yesterday, said: 'I was both interested and saddened to read of the difficulties encountered by him in his search for suitable employment.' Mr McGregor said his company needed ambitious sales staff.
