Funds to help ease pupils' study worries

Students may now apply for financial assistance under the Local Student Finance Scheme and the Non-means Tested Loan Scheme.

The Student Financial Assistance Agency said institutions covered for both schemes were: City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Lingnan College, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Hong Kong; Hong Kong Technical College (Chai Wan), Hong Kong Technical College (Tsing Yi), Prince Philip Dental Hospital (General Diploma Course in Dental Technology), and Hong Kong Institute of Education (full-time pre-service two-year course or other recognised course).

Full-time students of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts doing recognised courses are also eligible.

Full-time students may apply for both schemes for the first time this year.

Applicants should have right of abode in Hong Kong or have resided in Hong Kong continuously for three complete years prior to starting the course.

Current students of the above-mentioned institutions can now obtain application forms from their institutions and return them for processing.

Deadline for application for current students is April 30.
