Tung Chee-hwa will visit Australia and New Zealand in mid-June, ending a round of promotional tours in his first year as Chief Executive.
The trip will follow the first Legislative Council election and come before the first anniversary of the return to Chinese sovereignty.
It is expected that Mr Tung will address issues including the state of the economy and the elections in meetings with officials and business leaders.
Mr Tung began his first round of overseas trips with a mission to Malaysia and Singapore in August, followed by Japan, the United States, Britain, Brussels, Germany and France.
A spokesman for Mr Tung said his programme of overseas visits in the second half of this year had yet to be finalised. He would attend the economic leaders' summit at the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation conference scheduled for November in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Mr Tung's two top aides have scheduled major overseas trade promotion tours for the next two months.
Financial Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen is to join the Trade Development Council (TDC) in the SAR's first key business promotion in South America.
