Health inspectors will double tests on beef samples at a Yuen Long slaughterhouse linked to an E-coli scare.
Beef was normally tested twice a month, but this would be increased to twice a fortnight, said a Regional Services Department spokesman.
The slaughterhouse will also receive two high-pressure hoses to clean carcasses, after beef it supplied to a Sheung Shui shop tested positive for E-coli 0157 bacteria, which can be fatal.
Samples from the slaughterhouse on April 21 were free of the bacteria, a spokesman said.
The Sheung Shui shop remained closed for the third consecutive day yesterday.
Two other shops which received beef from the same batch, in Tuen Mun and Tsuen Wan, have reopened.
