More than 40 Hong Kong students received Bachelor of Education degrees and postgraduate awards at a ceremony in the Convention and Exhibition Centre. They completed one to three-year studies at the University of Nottingham's School of Education in Britain. Professor David Hopkins, chair of the School of Education, said universities were 'not ivory towers but represent some of the most dynamic institutions in society . . . they are potentially the powerhouse of intellectual and social regeneration'. 'Degrees imply an ability to learn.'
